Whole Group Learning:
Read it Again: Giggle, Giggle Quack. The objectives for this story were to learn some uppercase letter names, including those in own name and those of some friends or family members, to understand and use words which describe objects (adjectives-number words), to identify when two words share the same first sound and to order three or more major events in a story.
Creative Curriculum: Uncle Nacho's Hat: We had a discussion regarding the events in the story, made predictions and recalled and summarized the events in print. We also read Caps for Sale. We discussed expanding vocabulary for the following terms: leaned, 'not to upset', refreshed, monkey business and irritate. We discussed events of the story and asked questions to invite explanations.

Center Time Learning:
During center time, we have been assessing where our students are at academically starting off the school year. If you have not been practicing working on the upper and lower case letters, number recognition, or counting, now is the time! We want our 4 year old preschoolers to be strong going into kindergarten next year, so would like for this second half of the school year to hold great growth for our students.
Friday, January 13 will be an early out with a 1:00 dismissal. Preschool will run on the following schedule:
AM Class: 8:15-10:15
PM Class: 11:15-1:00 (Please bring a sack lunch)
Monday, January 16: No School
