Preschool News Week of January 22-26

What We've Been Learning:

Whole Group Learning:

Read it Again:  The Biggest Snowman Ever.  The goals for this story are: to learn uppercase letter names, to understand and use new words representing thinking processes (imagine/try), to identify when two words share the same first sound (fan/five), and to produce a fictional story that has a setting and characters.

Creative Curriculum: Caps For Sale and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.  We discussed vocabulary, identified the main events and the problem/solution in each story.

Small Group Learning:

  • Dinner time activity practicing positional words
  • Unifex cubes patterning
  • Number identification card game
  • Rhyming game
  • RIA: story retelling
  • Journals
  • Jolly Phonics: Uu

Reminder:

Please remember to send shoes for your child to wear in the classroom.  As you are aware, it is very messy outdoors and boots will be necessary for outdoor recess. For those who are going to morning recess outdoors, having shoes for the classroom is absolutely necessary so they are not tracking on our classroom carpet as we spend a great deal of time on the carpet.  Thank you for your understanding.

Please Enjoy Pictures of our Learning:
