Preschool News Week of December 12-16

What We've Been Learning:

Whole Group Learning:

Books we've been reading:  The Gingerbread Baby and The Jacket I Wear in the Snow.  For these stories, we are focusing on rhyming words, syllables, learning new vocabulary words, concepts of print (where I start reading and the direction that I need to go), and story retelling.

Read it Again: We are reading The Mitten.  Our goals for this week are: To learn some uppercase letter names, including those in own name and those of some friends or family members, to understand and use the words for unfamiliar objects (nouns: mole, hedgehog, and badger), to identify when two words share the same first sound (mole/mitten/mouse, fox/find), and to order three or more major events in a story to include first, then, next and last.
