Preschool News Week of May 23-25

It's time to say goodbye to all our friends!

It is so hard to believe that the school year is coming to an end.  I would like to thank you for a fantastic year and for sharing your child with us.  Each and every one of them has made so much growth and it has been so exciting for me to see over the course of the school year.  As the school year comes to an end, I want to encourage you to use the activities provided in the summer learning packet to continue to grow and stay strong on academic concepts.  The activities are designed to be played as interactive games.  I would also like to encourage you to involve your child in social situations with other children and structured learning opportunities such as your local library summer program.  Please have a safe and enjoyable summer vacation!

Last day of Preschool: Today!  Tuesday, May 24.

4 Year Old Preschool Graduation: Wednesday, May 25 at 6:30 Keystone Elementary Gym.  When you arrive, your child should find their seat with their name on it and parents/grandparents may sit in the bleachers.  Your child will stay in their seat until I dismiss them with parents.  Graduation will start at 6:30, so please have your child arrive 5-10 minutes early to ensure they are seated and you are able to find seating before we begin.

Step Up Day Pics

I took some pics of step up day that I thought I would share since I am sure you are wondering how things went.  I was so very proud of our preschoolers.  What a great group of kids that our Kindergarten teachers will have the pleasure of working with next year!

First....we had a few super heroes in our classroom Thursday that I just had to share!

Now to the Step up day pictures....

Preschool News Week of May 16-20

What we've been learning:

We have completed our Read it Again series.  This week we are talking about the end of the school year, preparing for graduation and next year.  Our preschoolers are trying to grasp what I will be doing next year when they are not in my class and understanding that they will be in a new classroom and with a new teacher.  They have asked me, "Where will you be, what will you do and will we see you again?"  It tugs at my heart strings.  :)

Children's Literature: Kindergarten ABC, The Night Before Kindergarten, Miss Bindergarten Gets Ready for Kindergarten.

Small Groups: Buzz! (lower case alphabet recognition game), journals, patterning match-ups, geo-boards, rhyming bingo, and math file folder games.

Reminder: No preschool Friday: Step up day for our 4 year old preschool students.
Last day of preschool: May 24
4 Year Old Preschool Graduation: May 25 at 6:30

Plants:  We will be sending plants home on Tuesday.  The plants are yellow marigolds.  Students have enjoyed watching them grow.  Hopefully you will be able to plant them at home to continue to watch this summer.

Please enjoy pictures of our learning:
