Preschool News Week of February 29-March 4

Important Dates:  Preschool, Alternative Kindergarten and Kindergarten Registration will be held on Monday, March 7 in Keystone Elementary Library from 5:00-6:30.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

March 14 and March 15 Parent Teacher Conferences will be held.  On March 14 conferences will be held from 3:30-7:30 and on March 15 Preschool conferences will be held from 8:00-7:30.  There will be no preschool March 15-18.  Please call the office to schedule your conference remembering times fill up quickly.   

March 25 there will not be school.  

What we are learning:

Read it Again: Bunny Cakes
Print Knowledge:  We are working on recognizing the difference between letters and words.  We count words we write in print and then we also count letters.  

Vocabulary:  We are working on understanding and using new words to represent feelings.  The target words are frustrated, confused and satisfied.  

Narrative:  We are working on producing a personal story that has a clear beginning, middle and end.  

Phonological Awareness:  We are working on producing words that share a rhyming pattern with the -ake ending.

Sensory: Water, Sea Animals, Funnels, and  
Discovery: New Sensory bottles 

Next week:  We will be playing a beginning sounds game, a shape bump game with a partner, playdoh number mats, and complete our name writing assessment.    

Reminder:  Preschool Family Fun Night, Thursday, March 3, 6:00-7:30 in Keystone Elementary Gym.
