What we are learning:
Read it Again: The Mitten
Print Knowledge: We are working on understanding and describing aspects of books (illustrator, author, cover, title page). We do this through discussion prior to reading a story.
Vocabulary: We are focusing on using words to represent our thinking process: think and decide. We are discussing what these terms mean and using them in our discussions.
Narrative: We are working on identifying and describing characters and the setting in our story.
Phonological Awareness: We are continuing to work on identifying when two words share the same first sound. For example (badger, bear, Baba) all start with the 'b' sound.
Additional Children's Literature: About Space and What's in the Sky
Numbers: We have been working with teen numbers and counting. We also had our students complete a unifex graph with a partner where they built unifex cubes for each number and we discussed that the pattern was to add one more to each number set.

Dramatic Play: We will be voting on our next dramatic play center next week!
Valentine's Party: Preschool will be having a Valentine's Party on Thursday, February 11th for both classes. We will be having a Valentine's exchange for the students. I will be sending home a list of names for each class. If you choose to have your child participate in the Valentine's exchange I ask that you send a Valentine for each student. If you have any questions, please let me know. We will have bags for each student to hold their Valentine's in and you may send them to school with your student beginning on Monday, February 8th.
